Meet Our 2025 Local Champion!

Every year, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals asks each of its member hospitals to identify a “Champion” to serve as the face for the millions of children treated by children’s hospitals annually. These ambassadors spend one year advocating for the charitable need of the hospital where they received their care.

This year, James and Connie Maynard Children’s Hospital selected Layah Collins to be our 2025 Champion!

Layah’s journey began at 15 months old with a diagnosis of metastatic neuroblastoma. She faced a grueling path of chemotherapy, surgeries, and setbacks. Despite transitioning to palliative care, Layah defied expectations, showing no disease progression for three years. Two years ago, the cancer returned, but after further treatment, Layah achieved remission one year later. Her story is a testament to the power of resilience and the unwavering support of her medical team.
