New Panda Cares Center of Hope Open for Patients and Families

On March 10th, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and James and Connie Maynard Children’s Hospital celebrated the opening of the Panda Cares® Center of Hope, made possible by the associates and guests of Panda Express®, who foster the spirit of giving to help change kids’ health to change the future. The garden space was chosen because it is a serene oasis, thoughtfully designed to enhance the healing journey for patients and their families. Central to this outdoor retreat is the inviting gazebo area, a charming structure that beckons visitors to step away from the clinical environment and embrace a sense of calm and normalcy. This beautiful space serves as a much-needed escape, offering patients and their families the opportunity to momentarily forget the confines of hospital walls. Here, therapies can be conducted under open skies, moving treatment from bedside to an outdoor setting that inspires relaxation and optimism. The fresh air and natural surroundings work harmoniously to reduce stress and anxiety, fostering an improved mood and a greater sense of well-being. The gazebo area also becomes a cherished gathering spot for families, providing a peaceful environment to share moments of togetherness. Whether it’s celebrating small victories, finding solace in challenging times, or simply enjoying each other’s company, this space supports emotional connection and resilience.

Designed with care and intention, the garden space is more than just an outdoor area—it is a place where hope blossoms, spirits are uplifted, and healing extends beyond medical treatment.

The Center of Hope inspires hope and promotes healing by providing specially curated programs that address each child’s entire well-being, including their mental, emotional, physical and spiritual needs. This space is designed to give children the courage and strength to thrive.

Panda Express® guests and their associates in eastern North Carolina have raised over $345,000 for
Maynard Children’s Hospital since 2016.
